Housekeeper Christchurch

Hi there, Backpackers! Come join our fun team! Experience living in Christchurch's most unique hostel with a great team of people!

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic housekeeper to join our team on the 26th June. We ask for a minimum commitment of 4 weeks, most people want to stay on longer!

So come and experience Ōtautahi Christchurch and help run an award-winning historic backpacker hostel! Most days we are playing card games, cooking together and watching movies on our new outdoor projector for BBQ nights in the garden and staff pizza nights. We have 2 cats Pumkin and Onion that are loved by all. It will be one of your most interesting experiences and accommodations in New Zealand!

• Experience in housekeeping is desirable. If you lack the necessary experience but have heaps of energy, a willingness to learn and enjoy working at pace, then please do apply!
• You must have a current Working Holiday Visa or other legal rights to work in New Zealand.

As a housekeeper, you will help with cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms/toilets, communal areas, and spring cleaning of Jailhouse Accommodation. 

Housekeeping is normally between the hours of 10am - 12/12:30pm, 6x a week and this work covers only your accommodation. You'll get laundry money on Saturdays (after being with us for 3 days), and you will have a bed in our 8 bed mixed staff dorm and use of the hostel facilities, Wi-Fi, the kitchen, etc too. After 1 month you'll be entitled to a $100 accommodation credit at jailhouse.

Work will be great to add to your CV for future travels, fun with a supportive team, and you will get to meet some great people who are traveling New Zealand and have ended up in Jail!

Please note: This job is for accommodation only. You will not be paid out a salary. The work you do will only cover the accommodation in our 8 bed staff dorm.
