Dairy Farm Assistant/herd Manager

FAMILY OWNED/OPERATED DAIRY BUSINESS IN SOUTH OTAGO LOOKING FOR A NEW KEEN TEAM MEMBER!

To apply for this job you MUST have some previous Dairy Farm/Farm  Experience and an understanding for Agriculture with a genuine interest. 

Sorry - liking animals and the outdoors is NOT enough!

Also need to be honest with a positive outlook on life along with excellent work ethics! Genuinely wanting to learn and gain new experiences.

We provide fully furnished warm comfortable accommodation with unlimited WiFi on farm. Work Clothes and Work Boots provided. 

We run two neighbouring farms, each with a 50-Bail Rotary Shed and milking about 590 cows each. We run an 8 days on and 3 days off roster all year round and average about 38-45 hours/week. Annual starting salary $65 000 including accommodation and as you gain more experience and capability there are room for salary increase.

Start Date late August/early September

We both work full-time on farm together with staff from both NZ and abroad. For continuity on farm we look at preferably hiring for a minimum of 6 months but there are some flexibility depending on experience. 

Need to have a valid Working Holiday Visa to apply and driver's license and be able to speak/understand English ABOVE basic level..
