Holiday Home Cleaner

Payment: $25 - $30 Location: Queenstown
Region: Otago/Queenstown/Wanaka Experience: Experience Necessary

CleanBNB is a Kiwi-owned company looking after some of Queenstown's finest holiday homes and short-term rentals. Lake houses, mountain chalets, architect-designed properties — we get them guest-ready, to a hotel standard, before the next guest arrives.

We're hiring, and we're genuinely open on experience. Whether you've done this for years or never professionally before, there's a place for you here.

If you're experienced: we'd love to find a Senior Cleaner who cleans to a high standard and can help train others, run quality checks, and be someone the team can rely on. There's a clear pathway toward Team Leader for the right person.

If you're starting out: that's genuinely fine. Attitude and reliability matter just as much as experience. If you're dependable, take pride in your work, and want to learn, we'll bring you on as a Junior Cleaner and train you properly from the ground up.

Either way, this is steady, long-term work with real hours you can count on.

The role

Each shift, you'll get a property ready so the next guest walks in and feels good about it:

  • Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas thoroughly
  • Make beds to our presentation standard
  • Vacuum, mop, dust, and detail throughout
  • Follow the checklist in our app
  • Report anything damaged, missing, or not quite right

If you join as a senior, you'll also help train new team members and keep standards high. If you're starting out, we'll take the time to bring you up to our standard.

Why work with us

  • $25–$30 per hour, based on experience and level
  • Guaranteed minimum hours, with more available in busy periods
  • Daytime shifts, usually 9am–6pm — no late nights
  • App-based rosters and clear checklists
  • Some of the most impressive properties in the district
  • A small team where your work is noticed and valued

What matters most

You show up on time. You have an eye for detail. You follow the checklist, even when time is tight. You work well on your own, keep a good pace, and stay active. And you speak up clearly when something at a property isn't right.

What you'll need

  • The legal right to work in New Zealand — working-holiday visa holders welcome (no sponsorship available)
  • A valid NZ driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle, as you'll travel between properties
  • Enough English to read checklists and report issues clearly
  • Availability across the week, including weekends and public holidays
