Chef

Poppies Cafe is looking for an experienced Chef, ideally with a minimum of 2 years experience working in restaurants as a chef de partie, to join our team - working closely alongside our head chef and front of house manager. We are based in Twizel in the Mackenzie region, a great place to base yourself for the upcoming summer season. Mt cook is a stones throw away, and Christchurch and Queenstown are a 3 hour drive - the perfect spot to work hard and save $$$ 

At Poppies we strive to provide a great environment, excellent food, and fantastic wines alongside an outstanding service, and the ideal person will be able to assist our head chef to provide that ultimate dining experience to our guests. 

We are slowly building up our kitchen team to help drive us through the summer months, there could also be the potential for further long-term work for the right person.  

We are currently operating 5 days, with 2 set days off a week - perfect to make plans and trips away. This role comes with a very competitive pay for the right candidate. Once we build our kitchen team we plan to open 7 days a week in the summer, so plenty of hours will be available.
