2 Dairy Farm Positions - Could suit a Couple

1 x Farm Assistant and 1 x Calf Rearer role on a 700-cow dairy farm near Temuka, Canterbury from 13th - 17th July through to mid/late September.

Temuka is less than 2 hours to Tekapo and Christchurch and 25 minutes to Timaru.  Temuka itself is a quick 5 min trip into town for all your necessities.

A 3-bedroom, warm, furnished on-farm house is available.  This accommodation may be shared with another employee.

Firewood is freely available for your use.  We pay the electricity, up to a high cap!  

You will enjoy this job more if you are physically fit, have a desire to work and learn new skills.  Enjoyment of working with animals and working outside are also vital!

A high standard of spoken English is required, as is a Working Holiday or similar right to work Visa.  These are seasonal, Fixed Term positions so we are not able to provide Work Visas for the roles.  

Drivers Licenses are required for both roles.  Motorbikes, farm utes and trailers will be used often.  We will provide you with your protective gear - gumboots, overalls, raincoats.  You will join a small, experienced and supportive team who enjoy taking the time to care for our animals.

Role 1 - Farm Assistant

- Milking, feeding cows, setting up fences,

- cleaning, stockwork and general farm duties

- 50 bale rotary shed, ProTrack, Pivot Irrigation

Role 2 - Calf Rearer

- Main role is rearing, feeding and caring for calves

- Preparing and transferring milk, grain, preparing and cleaning pens/beds and equipment

-Some general farm work outside of the busy calving weeks also
