Picking

Looking for 1–2 avocado pickers

Start date: Around 1st September 2026

The role will involve picking from a Hydralada as well as ground picking. You must be comfortable working at height, not afraid of heights, and flexible to work between Hydralada and ground picking as required.

The work is outdoors and involves physical activity, so you should be reasonably fit and able to work in different weather conditions.

Rural location, so own car/transport is required. Double room beds are available nearby at cost, approximately a 5-minute drive from the orchard.

Requirements:

• Valid NZ work visa required — no overseas visitors please
• Comfortable working at height and not afraid of heights
• Flexible to work on both Hydralada and ground picking
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors
• Previous fruit picking experience preferred but not essential
• Hydralada experience is an advantage, but training will be provided
